Biathlon Alaska / Alaska Pacific University Nordic Ski Team

In the winter of 2017, John attended the West Yellowstone Nordic Festival, where he first shot a biathlon rifle. The following year, at age 10, he took up biathlon as a sport. His Nordic ski coach, Eric Strabel, has been a big inspiration for John througout his career. So far, his favorite venue to race at his Kincaid Park in his hometown of Anchorage, AK.

Outside of biathlon, John enjoys fly fishing, backcountry skiing and exploring the mountains around Anchorage. During the summer, he also commercial fishes to support his biathlon and Nordic racing.
