Alexandra started skiing after moving from Greenwich, CT to Oslo, Norway when she was 13. She started biathlon the following year and began racing in Norway with Fossum. She currently trains with Holmenkollen Biathlon and studies at The Norwegian School of Sports Sciences (NIH).
