Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah announced as 2029 BMW IBU World Cup host

Midway, Utah (February 25, 2025)  – The Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation and United States Biathlon Association, with the support of Utah Sports Commission, are proud to announce Soldier Hollow Nordic Center will host a BMW IBU World Cup event from March 6-11, 2029.  
This is the third biathlon World Cup event to be held at the venue since 2001. Soldier Hollow hosted the BMW IBU World Cup in 2024 and 2019, and the IBU Youth & Junior World Championships in 2022. Following the 2029 event at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center, the BMW IBU World Cup circuit will make another stop in North America at Canmore, Alberta, Canada. 
With a cumulative TV viewership approaching one billion, biathlon is one of the most popular winter sports in Europe. The 2024 BMW IBU World Cup at Soldier Hollow featured over 255 athletes from 23 countries - drawing over 10,000 spectators to the venue and over 9 million viewers worldwide. 
Soldier Hollow hosted biathlon competitions during the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and remains a world-class facility for biathlon and cross-country skiing. The facility will also service as a competition venue for the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. 
Soldier Hollow Nordic Center, home to the United States Biathlon Association, offers several options to introduce participants of all ages and abilities to winter sport including Team Soldier Hollow youth skiing programs, daily lessons, season passes and more.
